Your Quick Marketing Checklist! Easy, but Important
We recently shared a handful of key ways you can help your contracting business survive (and thrive!) in these turbulent times. If you missed it, check it out here.
Today, we have a super quick and easy checklist for you. Run through these items and make sure your efforts are firing on all cylinders, and that no technological breakdowns are costing you leads. Little things can make a big difference and you can’t afford a missed opportunity.
#1: Check your website
Doesn’t get much easier than this! Click through your site on your phone and desktop, ensuring that pages work, there are no broken links, navigation is in order, etc. Just a top-level wellness check.
#2: Check your web forms
You know those “Contact us!” forms on your website or landing pages? It’s really smart to periodically test them out. Do they work, are they easy to use, and is the lead going to the right person on your team?
#3: Check your phone numbers
Call your own business! Do your numbers work? How about your voicemail? And as a quick additional tip, do everything in your power to avoid “phone trees.” This day and age especially, people want to talk with a real, live person right away. Long menus and option lists are a major turnoff.
#4: Check your integrations and software
Do you use any third-party software or tools to help relay data? Take a moment and confirm everything is working and getting to the right person. A breakdown in the system isn’t always easy to catch right away and can cause a serious problem.
#5: Check your social media messages
When was the last time you checked your Facebook or Instagram inbox? People send messages via social media quite a bit, and they expect a reply. If you don’t have a dedicated social media manager, you can at least make sure that someone on your office team knows they’re responsible for checking messages a few times per week (if not every day).
What’s the takeaway?
Your contracting business has a lot of moving parts — we totally get it. But little loose ends can add up to a lot of missed opportunities. Experience has also shown us that people are quick to assume that someone else is checking or watching for these common issues. It’s so worthwhile to clarify the roles and responsibilities!
